In 2000 Munsoft purchased a section 21 Company called MunPak with an existing client base using an old system running in COBOL. Whilst this system was functional it did not meet the standards of a rapidly changing Technological world.

In 2003/2004 the MunPak system was re-written into what is today referred to as Munsoft 5i, a modern ‘state-of-the-art’ system. It is not merely a ‘pretty face’ on an old legacy system. This System is an ORACLE based system, has an Integrated Municipal Website, available in all 11 official languages and the ability to MMS Consumer Statements with an option to do a Mobile account payment.

Our client base has grown in leaps and bounds, almost equally spread between Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KZN and Eastern Cape Provinces with no less than 5 new Municipalities added to our portfolio during June/July 2012.

Support is provided by our own consultants from our offices in Johannesburg via a dedicated Telkom/Munsoft Managed Network using our web based on-line help desk called SysAid. Our Disaster Recovery Centre in Centurion gives our clients peace of mind that their Data is completely replicated every evening via the Telkom Managed Network.

It ships with an Integrated Municipal Website where customers can enquire into their accounts, change contact details on-line, log service requests and can even request for their monthly statements to be sent to them via a cell phone MMS or email.

The development language is Pro-IV, a modern Rapid Application Development Language supplied by the largest software house in the U.K., Northgate Arinso PlC.
